Awards
Presented at the annual conference banquet. Nominations close 15 February.
Awards
Records Officer of the Year. For outstanding practice in the preceding year — a project delivered, a backlog cleared, a municipality brought into compliance, a difficult disclosure handled well. Any active member may nominate; self-nomination is permitted and roughly a third of nominations are.
The Halloran Award. For a career contribution to municipal recordkeeping in Clearwater. Named for Margaret Halloran, city clerk of Fairholm 1958–1984 and CAMRO’s first president. Not awarded every year, and deliberately so — it has been presented eighteen times since 1979.
Rising Clerk. For a records officer with fewer than five years in the role. Carries a paid place at the Institute.
President’s Award. At the president’s discretion, for service to the association. Frequently goes to someone who has quietly run something for a decade.
Nominating
One page. Say what the person did, when, and what changed as a result. The committee has consistently said that a specific short nomination beats a general long one, and it keeps having to say it.
