In most Clearwater municipalities the clerk is the entire records department. CAMRO is the rest of the department.
What membership is for
The credential
The CCRO is the professional standard for records officers in Clearwater, and increasingly what a hiring committee expects to see. Members pay member rates for every course that counts toward it.
Templates you can use tonight
Model response letters, a disposition log, an agenda template that satisfies Chapter 38, and a records request policy your council can adopt without amendment.
A voice at the Capitol
When a bill changes what clerks must retain, CAMRO is in the committee room explaining what it costs a town with one full-time employee.
Classes and dues
Active — $95/year. A municipal clerk, deputy clerk or appointed records officer of a Clearwater municipality. Full voting rights.
Associate — $60/year. County recorders, school district and special district records staff, and state agency records officers. No vote.
Municipal — $310/year. Up to four seats for one municipality, and the cheaper option the moment you have a deputy. Held by the municipality, so it survives a change of clerk.
Retired — $40/year. For former active members. Keeps the listserv and the conference rate.
Student — free. Enrolled in a public administration or records management programme.
Dues run on the calendar year and are not prorated. Vendors and consultants may not join in any class; they participate as conference sponsors.
