City Clerk — Ashgrove (District 5) Full time · $62,400–$71,800 · closes 14 October 2026. Population 8,900. Council-manager. CCRO required within three years of appointment. Contact the city administrator.
Deputy Clerk — Lindenport (District 7) Full time · $48,100–$54,600 · closes 3 October 2026. Population 4,200. Minutes, licensing and elections support. No certification required to apply; the municipality pays Institute tuition.
Clerk-Treasurer — Ellis Hollow (District 12) Part time, 24 hours · $31,900 pro rata · open until filled. Population 780. The combined clerk-treasurer role common in the Uplands. Expect to be the records officer, the licensing desk and the elections official.
Records Officer — Sable Point (District 9) Full time · $57,200–$64,000 · closes 28 September 2026. Population 12,400. A dedicated records post rather than a combined clerk role — still uncommon in Clearwater and worth reading closely if you have been doing both jobs at once.
Chapter 44
Every municipality must appoint a certified records officer.
That is not a preference, it is Chapter 44. A municipality that cannot fill the post still owes the appointment, and the duty falls to whoever the governing body names — usually the clerk, sometimes the treasurer, and occasionally somebody who finds out at the meeting.
If your municipality is advertising and struggling, say so at your district meeting. Several appointments in the last two years have been filled by a deputy from a neighbouring town who wanted the step up.
